GECAS signs Customer for Converted 767 Freighters

STAMFORD, Conn., September 4, 2002 - GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS) today announced that Transportes Aereos Mercantiles Pan Americanos S.A. (TAMPA), a Latin America cargo carrier, will take delivery of four (4) Boeing 767 freighters beginning in June 2004. Terms of the lease agreement were not disclosed.

As part of GECAS' previously announced freighter conversion program, Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) will convert the four aircraft from passenger to freighter configuration.

GECAS provides a variety of aircraft financing to airfreight operators around the world and currently maintains a fleet of approximately 50 owned and managed freighters. In addition to the 767 freighter conversion program, GECAS also is converting 15 737-300s and 737-400s to freighter and quick-change configuration.

TAMPA Airlines, part owned by Martinair Holland, N.V., is a leading air cargo carrier in Latin America based in Colombia. Today, TAMPA Airlines operates a fleet of three DC-8-71Fs and one DC-10-30F, which has enabled it to expand operations throughout the Americas, becoming the third-largest mover of air cargo at the Miami International Airport.
